August 12 - 5 Months Later

The world has changed a bit since I last penned my thoughts into the void - a global pandemic shut down much of the normal existence that we all shared, and on March 15, Governor Jay Inslee shut down Washington State as we know it, working with intel from the state, federal and international health organizations - like the CDC and WHO. Washington was doing well for a while - but America is a tire fire, and getting worse by the day. We are the laughing stock of the world - our president is something between a bad joke and a nightmare.

Yesterday, former president Biden announced Kamala Harris as his running mate in the 2020 election - under the DNC ticket. We are at a very interesting point in American history. Additionally yesterday, Christian returned from an 8 day road trip to pick up Mariah in Indiana, and I now wait with baited and anxious breath to see if he picked up an unwelcome visitor on his way to or back from, the heartland.

Life is different, the focus has shifted. I miss the Joe Exotic / stimulus check days, without any irony.
