Nix

Nix

The world of Nix is a watery world, not a water world, but a watery one. This was a world that once held water, in the crook of mountains and valleys, it was once a world that housed all the people who had ever existed. Now it’s just a giant pond, full of rocks that stick out, with bitter sad people clinging to those peaks, the middle of the planet so hot it boils the water in the summer sun. The top and bottom of this marble, are the only truly habitable places, taken over by the new governments, a true world order. So we, the free people, cling to the scraps of the last temperate climates; the cascades is the home I have known my entire life. As a child, these were some of the greatest mountains on the continent, and as an adult, it is one of the few remaining archipelagos that still exists – those Hawaiian islands that Michener wrote about are so far beneath the surface of the ocean that they can’t even count as sunken islands, and more are probably now classified as sea floor mounts.
